Joining the WATC has given me new goals and achievements beyond what I thought possible, from learning hammer through to winning a bronze medal in the Weight Throw at the World Masters Championships in Perth in 2016.
Throwing is not simply a sport or recreational activity, it is a way of life. A discipline which combines both mental and physical strength, balance and power. Lindsey and his training group have supported me immensely in my throws journey by passing on years of information and expertise, and providing a good laugh and shared experiences. Since I joined the group, I have made friends of all ages, shapes and sizes. I know that the WATC will benefit everyone in the throwing community in WA, and I look forward to being a part of it.
